Description

This is an allowlist to ARSNL’s new release with Deborah Kass

Arsnl is honored to present the first ever digital artwork by the legendary pop artist Deborah Kass, entitled feel good spins for feel bad times.

This project consists of 777 Kass-ino Coins (500 available for sale, 100 included with Diamond Deb Sets, 177 given away as slot machine rewards and marketing) and hybrid physical+digital prints.

Kass-ino Coins are available for $400 each. Physical/Digital sets are available for $4,000 to $12,000.

Collectors buy coins in a cassino (aka Kass-ino) to have a slot machine generate the artworks. The Kass-ino interface is a fun, functional and “pop” way to present the generative nature of the works.

Each spin at the Kass-ino generates a triptych that expands Kass’ use of word play, combining the words and images into striking combinations.

Additional artworks are given as prizes to “jackpot” winners. Five of the most lucky winners will also receive physical prints from Kass’s personal collection.

As a high end offering, collectors can purchase a physical / digital hybrid: a print and matching triptych.

Purchase a Kass-ino Coin on January 30th and receive up to two spins in the machine to generate a Deborah Kass original artwork!

About Deborah Kass

Born in 1952, Deborah Kass is a lesbian pop artist based in Brooklyn.

Her technique of appropriation is a critical commentary on the intersection of social power relations, identity politics, and the historically dominant position of male artists in the art world.

Kass’ works are featured in the permanent collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and The National Portrait Gallery at The Smithsonian, among others.

Her monumental OY/YO sculpture sits in Brooklyn Bridge Park at the foot of the Manhattan Bridge. It spells “YO” against the backdrop of Brooklyn. The flip side, for those gazing at Manhattan, reads “OY.”
